⁷carnelians and other jewels to be set in the ephod^[a] of the High Priest and in his breastpiece. ⁸The people must make a sacred Tent for me, so that I may live among them. ⁹Make it and all its furnishings according to the plan that I will show you.

Exodus 25:7 In most contexts the term ephod refers to a type of shoulder garment, in certain respects resembling a vest. It was made of costly and colorful cloth and to it was attached a kind of pouch containing the Urim and Thummim, two objects used in determining God's will.
